At Wild Thang, we firmly believe in the power of diversity and standing up for LGBTQ+ rights. That's why our Pride campaign is more than just a collection of fabulous products — it's a statement of solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

This year is the 51st anniversary of the first Pride march in the UK in 1972 and each year we reflect on a serious note that the journey towards equality started with the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which changed gay rights for many people not only just in America but also worldwide!

With solidarity and support central to Pride Month it was fantastic to hear about Liverpool Pride being twinning with the Ukrainian City of Kyiv. This is yet another moment to celebrate and remember those who fought previously and those who continue to fight for the LGBTQ+ community's rights and acknowledge that progress still needs to be made across the globe. Each year we pour our hearts into curating a range of creative branded clothing , merchandise and print that really celebrates the iconic rainbow colour’s and our talented design team have gone a step further by creating a 2023 Pride brand that again incorporates those messages around love, equality & supporting diversity in 2023.

On the 1st of June to celebrate the start of Pride month and show our support we transformed the Wild Thang brand across all our social platforms into a radiant symbol of acceptance, reflecting our dedication to creating a world where everyone can live and love freely.

As part of our commitment to inclusivity and diversity the Wild Thang team were delighted to attend a talk hosted by keynote speaker Christian Owens! A huge thank you to the John Haynes Foundation who organised the event! Christian is a transgender awareness speaker who uses his own personal journey of discovery to enlighten and inspire individuals and organisations. The transgender awareness training was held in the spectacular Sefton Park Hotel.

During the talk, Christian shared his inspiring story with us all and spent time educating us on correct terminologies, pronouns and what we can do as businesses to help make our workplace as inclusive as possible for the transgender community. As pride month draws to an end this was the perfect finale to highlight how we need to continue to learn, promote, celebrate and raise awareness to create a more inclusive world, not just for one month but throughout the year.
