We have had an amazing action-packed 2022 at Wild Thang, with brilliant campaigns, new members of the team, and opportunities to support a variety of charities and it was all topped off towards the end of the year by winning, Business of the Year (over 30 employees) at the Chamber of Commerce Innovation in Business Awards which is a spectacular achievement for us. We believe that with 2022 coming to an end and the fact we are starting a whole new exciting year fresh in 2023, it is important to look back at some of our biggest moments of the previous year to celebrate.

Wild Thang Announce long term Irish and European expansion plans

Back in March 2022 on the day of St Patrick’s Day Wild Thang announced our next step to international success by forming our Irish company that will facilitate ease of trading and distribution between Ireland and the rest of Europe. With offices, warehousing and distribution based in Dublin and Kilkenny, we can service our growing number of international clients. This was a huge step for Wild Thang in achieving some of our short and long-term goals.

Wild Thang Spring Social at Pins

In April the Wild Thang got the chance to come together and enjoy a day together at the amazing Pins Social Club, one of the first times to get together for an official team social off the back of the pandemic made sure it was one of our biggest and best to date. Drink, food and bowling were what was on the activity list for the day and everyone had an amazing time, we also got the chance to celebrate some key staff landmarks with Leigh and Graham reaching a breathtaking 20 years at Wild Thang, Stacey reaching 15 years with us and Nikki alongside Darren who reached 10 years at Wild Thang!

Wild Thang Embroiderers of the official LFC Champions League final home kit

Way back in May Wild Thang was delighted to be chosen as a local Liverpool company to brand the first team kits of Liverpool Football Club for their upcoming Champions League Final against Real Madrid in Paris. It was an honour to have the opportunity to be involved in such a gigantic occasion viewed by hundreds of millions of people on a global scale, seeing our work in the spotlight was a proud moment for the team and the epitome of branding in action. We were also visited by LFC to film some of the kits being branded and they got some amazing footage, an all-round great moment in the history of Wild Thang.

Wild Thang Summer Social

Back in September the Wild Thang team was treated to a summer social and it was a brilliant day all round to close out a great summer. The day started with an exclusive guided tour of the Liver buildings to enjoy the spectacular 360° views of the Liverpool skyline from the 15th-floor viewing platform and then later on in the day we were treated to some spectacular food at the legendary Ma Boyle’s which has been open since 1870.

LGBTQ Awards Sponsor

Wild Thang was delighted to have the opportunity to be a category sponsor at the North West LGBTQ+ Business Awards year. Held in the spectacular Titanic Hotel on the Liverpool waterfront, people from all over came together to celebrate the achievements of our LGBTQ+ community in business and commerce.  We were incredibly proud to show our true commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and the Wild Thang team had a brilliant night.

Support the John Haynes Foundation Gala

Wild Thang is proud to have been a platinum sponsor at the gala dinner to support the John Haynes Foundation which is very close to the team’s hearts. Hilton City Centre Hotel on the 17th of September the event was a huge success raising over £36,913.  It was a spectacular night which brought everyone together, spreading so much happiness and raising a huge amount of money to help John’s legacy live on to help others ‘Fly With The Eagles'.

Wild Thang World Cup Campaign/ Conor Coady

As a team, we knew how big the World Cup was to everybody not just in the UK but worldwide so we decided to create a campaign for it in which we created our own World Cup Sub-brand and highlighted some amazing branding inspiration. The campaign looked amazing and was a big success across all our social platforms. A huge moment for Wild Thang came when Everton Centre Back Connor Coady reported for England World Cup duty holding a Wild Thang branded bag, the arrival was captured on England's official media across all their social media platforms and garnered huge viewing figures, it was a truly great moment in Wild Thang’s year.

Wild Thang working with Tony Bellew for Weapons down Gloves up

Wild Thang was happy to work with Toney Bellew and the support Weapons Down Gloves Up initiative, we helped out by supplying a dual-branded Wild Thang x WDGU Umbro Teamwear kit for Ormskirk West End FC. With WDGU being a fantastic initiative based in Liverpool and Toney Bellew being a friend of Wild Thang it was an easy decision to help out with such a great cause and the results were fantastic.

Business Of The Year

Over the Christmas period at the Chamber of Commerce Innovation in Business Awards, Wild Thang won the Business of the Year (over 30 employees) award sponsored by Lexus Liverpool.  To receive such an outstanding award, it was a really special moment in Wild Thang’s 26-year journey, to have all the hard work, innovation, development, research and creativity recognised and scoop the premier accolade of the night was unforgettable.

Wild Thang Christmas party

The Hard Days Night Hotel provided the perfect venue for Wild Thang's spectacular Christmas party, after a year of hard work and highlighted success the amazing team at Wild Thang HQ deserved a brilliant Christmas-themed night.  A wonderful three-course meal followed by a night of drinks and music with the team set up a perfect night, we even got to welcome Ella and Dot who are new members of the sales team.

Christmas Jumper day at Wild Thang HQ

Christmas is a time to come together to celebrate and have a good time, at Wild Thang HQ we are no different! Wild Thang celebrated our annual Christmas Jumper Day with the team, this is our opportunity to get into the festive spirit and say a big, big thank you to the whole Wild Thang team for their commitment and dedication in helping us achieve so much in 2022.

Our fun-filled day included a raffle, best Christmas Jumper competition, and surprise treats for the whole team including incredibly tasty pies from Home Baked Bakery which is a Community Owned Liverpool, a festive mince pie from Costa Coffee and as we are merchandise experts, we also provided a high-quality personalised mug as our festive gift for every staff member. The day was an amazing opportunity for the team to have some fun before the Christmas break and raise some money for a great cause.

Named one of Sourcing City's Distrobutors Of The Year!

To close out the year it was a great honor to be named as one of the winners of Sourcing City’s Distributors of the Year which adds to another award to the one we just recently received, the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Business of The Year Award in November making it a special 2022. Being named as one of the Distributor’s of the Year is not easy and to do it you need a world class team and that is what we have here at Wild Thang, decades of expert experience across every department at Wild Thnag HQ paired with a brilliant atmophere and overall desire as a team to get results, that is a recipe for sucess. It was a great moment to celebrate with the team and to use as extra motivation to start up again after the christmas break.

It has been a truly amazing year, from great campaigns and winning awards to welcoming in new staff to the team and setting company records, it would not be possible without the amazing support we get.
